Matthew G. Gauthier


Matthew G. Gauthier joined Moffett VItu as an attorney in November 2016. While in law school, Mr. Gauthier completed an internship at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan; completed an externship at a large laintiff’s firm, and; he completed a clerkship at a large Defense firm in Metro Detroit. Mr. Gauthier was a Senior Associate Editor of the Thomas M. Cooley Law Review. Also, Mr. Gauthier was a member of the Moot Court National Team for the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

After graduation, Mr. Gauthier started his practice as a Plaintiff’s personal-injury litigator in a prominent Metro-Detroit firm. For almost five years, Mr. Gauthier handled trial litigation in state and federal courts. Further, Mr. Gauthier handled appellate litigation in the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court. Mr. Gauthier focused his practice to slip-and-fall claims; government-liability claims; first-party No-Fault claims, and; third-party auto claims.

Mr. Gauthier is a former Adjunct Law Professor at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Now, Mr. Gauthier focuses his practice on first- and third-party litigation as a defense attorney at Moffett Vitu.
